The 2009 "Seven Brothers" Napa Valley Tempranillo and the 2008 "Seven Brothers" Lake Country Sauvignon Blanc greeted us upon opening the well-cushioned and insulated packaging. One white, one red, both ideal for special occasions or for serving with a variety of every day dishes including grilled meats (Tempranillo) and seafood selections (Sauvignon Blanc.)
As every day is a blessing and thereby a special occasion for us, we opted to enjoy the Tempranillo on our weekly pizza night.
The flavors of dried black fruit, toasted cedar and tobacco mingle with aromas of blackberry, cinnamon, spice, and toasted oak complemented our hand-made pizzas, elevating the simple dinner to gourmet status.
Best of all, The California Wine Club offered a trust-worthy way to sample a new wine, that we've now added to our preferred list. So many times we've purchased a wine only to be dissapointed. Having one pre-selected by experts for us is a welcome option.
