My favorite board games to purchase for our family are ones that have some type of educational aspect. Whether it's using logic, memory recall, or offering enhancement of their math skills, I'm certainly in favor of adding fun, new learning-friendly games to our collection.I was slightly hesitant, wondering if Triple Talk, a fast-paced card game for improving vocabulary, would be a hit with my rural boys. I knew I'd love it (any game with word-play is high on my preference list) but sometimes the boys can be a little finicky.
Turns out I had absolutely nothing to fret- they love Triple Talk and have requested to play it several times a week since we received it!
Triple Talk improves vocabulary, comprehension, and reasoning skills by presenting students with words that may have different meanings based on their context. For example, you can swim in a pool, play a game of pool, or pool your resources.
Each of the 60 Word Cards in Triple Talk has three different corresponding Photo-Definition Cards (180 Cards). There are three levels of Photo-Definition Cards, each increasing in difficulty to continue building skills. The end object of the game is to play (discard) all of your cards to win.
Each time that I've played Triple Talk with my sons, it has opened up the opportunity to discuss the deeper meaning of words, how words are used in different context, and how we might use one of the words presented in a "real life" situation. The game offers many wonderful opportunities for enhancement of game play and enrichment of learning.
