Tiger Lillies grace our Rural Farm.

Tiger Lillies, also commonly referred to as Ditch Lillies (as Kentucky natives, they grow wild and particularly flourish along our ditch areas) are a sure-fire sign of summer in the Appalachians.

Old-time country medicinal uses for the Tiger Lily include treating sinus congestion and nausea with a concentrated brew of Tiger Lily tea.  Old-time legend says that smelling Tiger Lillies is what gives you freckles.

Whatever the tale or use, I simply love the way they brighten up our landscape and invite the summer sun to shine!
